Counseling & Academics
Within PWMHS, we are concerned with the educational, emotional, and social development of all students in relation to their overall school experience. In accordance with the Michigan School Counselors Association, all guidance counseling is done in the best interest of the student in order to help...
- children develop a better understanding and acceptance of themselves.
- children develop decision-making and problem solving skills.
- children develop socially and emotionally and to mature in their relationships with others.
- children cope with family changes.
- parents to understand their child's emotions, behaviors, and learning styles.
- parents and school staff create a positive learning environment.
- school staff to understand and meet the needs of all students in intellectual, personal, social, and emotional areas.
As stated within our Handbook, the Foundational Expectation within our building is to pursue our Personal Best - "the pillar to our Champions' Culture". Here within PWMHS, this means that we push our students to display a "Champion Attitude", a "Champion Work Habit", a "Champion Character", and "Champion Relationships".
Students can receive counseling by teacher or staff referral, students may also refer themselves, or a parent may request counseling for their child. Counseling - whether it be individual, small group, or classroom curriculum - is a way to encourage lifelong learning in students!

Student Technology Information
Google Workspace acts as a powerful launchpad for student engagement by centralizing resources, fostering choice and creativity through various apps such as Classroom, Docs, Slides, Earth... enabling personalized feedback, and promoting collaborative discussions, transforming it from a simple assignment hub into a dynamic, interactive learning environment.
In May of their senior year, PWMHS students are given instructions regarding their school account. When seniors graduate, they are given until the end of the following July to create a new personal account to transfer their school information, documents, and everything else Google-related to the new account. If you have questions, concerns, or feedback regarding this process, please contact our Technology Department.
