BK/Kindergarten Pre-Registration Information

Begindergarten/Kindergarten Pre-Registration

Begindergarten and Kindergarten pre-registration for the 2026-27 school year is open! . To pre-register your child, please click here to fill out the form.

Any child who turns 5 years old on or before December 1, 2026 is eligible for BK/Kindergarten.

All students new to the district will be required to complete the Kindergarten Readiness Test. This is the same test we’ve used in the past, and it assesses areas such as letter and number recognition, 1:1 correspondence, language development, gross motor skills, and spatial skills. While the district retains the right for student placement, we value our district's working relationships with our parents. Using your input and the student’s age, along with the results from the readiness test, we will be able to make informed decisions about student placements. Our number one priority is setting our students up for success, and this process will help us accomplish that.

As you pre-register your child, we want to be transparent and ensure that you clearly understand the district’s role in your child’s education. Our goal as a school is to make the best decisions possible for every student and to support their success. Throughout this process, P-W Elementary School will follow Pewamo-Westphalia Community Schools Board Policy 5410, which grants the district the authority to determine appropriate student placement. We value partnering with you as parents to make the most informed decisions together; however, there may be times when the school and family disagree on placement. In those situations, P-W Elementary will adhere to Board Policy 5410.

A few weeks after pre-registration opens, we will provide a sign-up link for scheduling your child’s readiness test. We anticipate holding testing sessions in April. If you have any questions, reach out to our office.
